Passion for APIFM: I was the first subscriber for the ROOTS CSA and I have have watched Scott and the team develop APIOPA and now APIFM into an organization that is doing groundbreaking work.

Bio: Joanna has worked in the non-profit sector for nearly two decades and has been doing progressive research for and in partnership with communities of color for nearly 15 years, as the research director at SCOPE in South Los Angeles, as the senior research analyst at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles, and now as a project manager at USC PERE/CSII. She is currently working on research projects that focus on economic justice, regional inclusion, social movement building, and immigrant integration. Joanna holds a Masters in Urban Planning from UCLA and a Bachelors in Journalism from Northwestern University.
