This free weekly class is part of our Healthy Eating + Active Living (HEAL) project, funded by Champions for Change. Classes focus on nutrition, and offer brief exercise as well as frequent cooking demonstrations. Participants are also encouraged to work on a group project, such as a community cookbook or garden. The intended audience for these classes are residents of Casa Heiwa and all Little Tokyo community members. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Linda Huynh, Community Engagement Coordinator, at

Classes take place at Little Tokyo Service Center, on the first floor of Casa Heiwa.

We are always looking for volunteers (especially those with Japanese and Spanish language skills, and folks interested in leading exercise and teaching cooking) to support these classes. Let us know if you’re interested!
